POWERBOATING enthusiasts can benefit from a range of Nationally recognised courses held at Yachting Victoria's Boatshed at Albert Park Lake.

The National Recreational Powerboat Operator Certificate provides participants with the knowledge and skills required to safely handle jetskis.

Classes include both theory and practical work, and are held either in the evening or over a weekend.

Speedboat enthusiasts will benefit from completing the National Power Boat Handling Course, which is currently recognised for licensing purposes and is part of a National Qualification scheme administered by Yachting Australia.

Topics covered include basic safety, responding to emergencies, boating in coastal waters, high speed boat-work and handling in heavy weather.

The course is presented by experienced and dedicated boaters.

Boatshed Manager, Rod Austin said the courses would benefit experienced boaters and newcomers alike.

``The best reason for training is it will, without a doubt, increase your confidence and enjoyment of boating,'' Mr Austin said.

The courses run regularly throughout the year.

For more information please contact Rod Austin at the Boatshed on 9686 2571.
