Activity Days Welcome to the St. Leonards Yacht Club & Motor Squadron. We are located on Victoria's Bellarine Peninsula just a short 25 minute drive from Geelong's city centre, and only 10 kilometres away from Port Phillip Bay's famous Rip. Our Club races a small but competitive fleet of off the beach multi hulls and dinghy's, these consist of A Class, and Paper Tiger catamarans, along with a large Heron fleet and some other monohulls. We have a strong racing pedigree boasting impressive results at both a State and National Title level. Strong tides and a short chop generally being the prevailing conditions make for challenging but exciting racing. We race every Sunday from November through to the end of April with two races often conducted. We certainly welcome visitors and any prospective sailors, advice and assistance can always be provided to the inexperienced.
Club Activities The club promotes Sailing, Power boating and Fishing activities on the Bellarine Peninsula. There is also a very active social atmosphere and functions are held regularly at the club house. The club also conducts the Bellarine Art Show on the Melbourne Cup Long Weekend. The Club has an active Heron building program with local Secondary Schools in the Geelong Region.
Open times Racing every Sunday from November through to April and club cruising on various Saturdays weather permitting.
Club information The Clubs main hall is available for hire for private functions by contacting the Rear Commodore Lorraine Smith by phoning 5257 1707.
Other information St. Leonards Yacht Club & Motor Squadron is a very friendly Club and hosts many social events throughout the year and we welcome all visitors. We have a very large Motor Squadron with a private launching ramp.
